Internationales Event "Bavarian Culture Studies"

AEGEE Augsburg veranstaltet im Oktober 2009 das internationale Event "Bavarian Culture Studies". Vom 10.10. bis zum 14.10.2009 werden 20 internationale Studierende aus ganz Europa in Augsburg zu Gast sein, um einige Einblicke in die Bayerische Kultur und Lebensweise zu bekommen.

Die Bayerische Kultur besch äftigt von jeher die Geister und Länder. Was ist es, was diesen Teil Deutschlands so einzigartig macht? Wie kommt es, dass dieser "Staat" bis heute einen besonderen Status hat und wie kann dies für Europa nützlich sein?!

Diese Fragen sollen im Zuge unseres Events geklärt werden und einen Einblick in die Einzigartigkeit Bayerns gewähren. Wir beginnen mit einer Einführung in die Stadt Augsburg samt historischer Stadtführung. Dazu gibt es an der Universität Augsburg thematische Vorträge über Bayern. Die Inhalte werden sowohl von AEGEE- Mitgliedern, als auch mit freundlicher Unterstützung von Universitätsdozenten erarbeitet und vermittelt. Ebenso wird der Status von Dialekten in der heutigen Gesellschaft näher beleuchtet, wobei natürlich einen Dialekt-Sprachkurs "Einführung in das Bayerische" nicht fehlen darf. Das Programm beinhaltet weiterhin einen kulturellen "Tanzkurs" mit Mitgliedern eines Trachtenvereins, an dem die Teilnehmer ebenfalls einige Schritte erlernen können.
Kernstücke sind zwei große Exkursionen nach München und zum Chiemsee. Hier sollen die Teilnehmer die Kultur und das Erbe Bayerns direkt erleben. Den Abschluss bildet die "European Night" als rauschendes Abschiedsfest.

Das Internationale Event "Bavarian Culture Studies" ist auf 15 TeilnehmerInnen beschränkt. Die Teilnahmekriterien sind besonderes Interesse an der Geschichte und Kultur Deutschlands und Europas. Die Bewerbung wird u.a. über ein entsprechendes Motivationsschreiben erfolgen.

International Event "Bavarian Culture Studies"

AEGEE Augsburg is planning the international event "Bavarian Culture Studies" to take place in October 2009. From October 10th to October 15th, 2009, 25 international students from all over Europe will be welcome to Augsburg. During their stay, they are to gain some insight into Bavarian culture and way of life.

People have always dealt with Bavarian culture. How has this state been able to keep its special status until today, and how could this be useful for Europe?

We are about to deal with these questions during the event, trying to gain insight into the uniqueness of Bavaria. We will start with an introduction into the town of Augsburg, accompanied by a historical guided tour. Moreover, we will offer different topical presentations about Bavaria at Augsburg University. The contents will be developped by AEGEE members as well as university lecturers. We also want to explore the status of dialects in a modern society. This includes of course a dialectic language course "Introduction to Bavarian dialect". Furthermore, we will experience a cultural "dancing lesson" accompanied by the members of a folklore society. During this activity the participants will have the opportunity to learn some dancing steps, too.
Two big excursions to Munich and to Chiemsee are the agenda highlights. These trips will allow the participants to experience Bavarian culture and heritage. The conclusion will be the "European Night", a flashy goodbye party!

The international event "Bavarian Culture Studies" is limited to 15 paticipants. Criteria of participation are particular interest in German and European culture and history. Applications need to include a corresponding letter of motivation.
